The hospitality management curriculum is designed to provide both technical and academic knowledge alongside hands-on experience. Several courses in the curriculum have a lab attached to the lecture so you can gain a textbook view and experiences you can apply in the workforce.
As a senior, you will participate in the weekly Lunch Club, the hospitality program's own full-service, fine dining restaurant for University employees. In that course, you are able to manage a food service operation in a fast-paced environment before graduation. In your lodging courses, you will work closely with the Hilton Garden Inn in the Research Park. There, you will shadow various employees, hear testimonials of current mangers, tour different facilities, and complete internships. You are also required to complete a management-level internship during your last semester.
